Choosing the right technology
Plasma and LCD TVs look the same, but are not. Some features and options do not differ much, but these are the main differences:
Size
If TV Arfe looking for an extra-large, go for a plasma. Plasma TVs are the current size champions, particularly when comparing TV that consumers can easily purchase. LCD size to reach with their technology, however, and may exceed plasma in the nearFuture. This can lead to difficulties in producing glass large enough for larger plasmas.
Burn-in
With the latest plasma technology, this is less a problem than ever. The ORBITOR pixels, for example, is a method to reduce plasma burn-in is used by producers. It requires no additional programming by the end user as some older burn-in prevention techniques did.
Note: If you want to use a plasma for games, can bring some games with the constant "dashboard" or someBurn-in. If you use the TV for viewing use only, go for an LCD. Plasma tend to burn their fingers, in pixels.
Miscellaneous
- LCD TVs are far less fragile than plasma. This is also an advantage if the TV to be delivered to site or move to another.
- LCD TVs are easier to install than many plasma TVs.
- LCD TV have better performance at high altitude.
- LCD TVoften cheaper than plasma TVs. The price difference is shrinking, however.
